Four Seasons Suite
I am drawn to the mountains, particularly the backcountry, for the intense changes in season. This suite of etchings, all based on paintings created in the midst of the four seasons, speaks of the subtle nuances found only in the Rocky Mountain high country where I grew-up hiking and exploring.
San Juan Aspen Grove
Sunny Morning, Buffalo Fork
Surrounded by the 'quakies', my senses are awaken to the Autumn. Golden Aspens rustling and the rich smell of fallen leaves below my feet, mean that winter is on the way. But, for this moment, I enjoy the calming space between the heat of summer and the low light of winter.

The snow that calves-off the banksides into the river is a kind of promise that the water won't freeze over again until next winter. After the coldest months this is always a distinct mark of spring in the high country.
Nightfall, Eagle River
Predawn Horseshoe Park
Temperatures fall fast as the sun fades from the sky, giving way to the deep blues, peaches, and yellows of twilight. The warmth in the evening sky against the cold patterns of fresh snow fall and ice on the shoulder of the river, and are some of the subtle contrasts of the mountains that I find amazing.

I often rise before dawn and start out in the dark to find a spot for painting the day break. In the heart of summer, I found the predawn stillness at Horseshoe Park awesome with the quiet reflection in the dewy grass – a summer time effect you'll know if you've spent anytime in the mountains.
